I attended school in Trion, Georgia before going to Carson-Newman College for my undergraduate degree. I graduated in 2014, receiving a bachelor of arts in Elementary Education with a Middle Grades add on. I was chosen as the outstanding graduate in the education department and completed Carson Newman’s honors program by completing a project on teaching tutors how to best work with underprivileged students. I recently completed my Masters of Education in K-12 Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment through Walden University.

I worked in schools across Jefferson and Hamblen counties during practicum to gain observation experience. I worked with Kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd , and 4th grade throughout this time. My senior year I completed two student teaching placements. My first placement was in 3rd grade at West Elementary School and the other was in 6th grade at Jefferson Middle School. This is my fourth year at John Hay Elementary School in 3rd grade.

I grew up in Trion, Georgia, a tiny town about 30 minutes north of Rome. I have a little sister and a little brother. My little sister, Brynna, is 3 years younger than me and my little brother, Chantry, is 9 years younger than me. After graduating from Carson-Newman, God led me straight back to east Tennessee to work at John Hay Elementary School. This is my third year coaching the cheerleading team at John Hay. We love cheering on the basketball team throughout the year!

I love reading, watching movies, hanging out with friends and family, and playing with my dog, Dobby.  I also enjoy being involved in church and learning from my students each and every day!
