I graduated from Morristown West High School.

I then went on to college and received my Bachelor's degree

in elementary education from Carson Newman College.

I began teaching in an interim position before I graduated college in 1984. I taught 4th grade at Lincoln Elementary for about 6 months, 8th grade history at East Ridge for about 5 months, then moved to Lincoln Heights Middle School where I taught 7th grade for 13 years.  I moved to John Hay Elementary School in 1999 to first grade where I remained for 9 years.  In 2008, I moved to 4th grade. Thus, I am beginning my 33rd year in education. I have enjoyed each grade level tremendously.

My name is Jama Davidson.  I am married and have 2 daughters who are now grown adults.  I am active in my church as pianist as well as other roles.  I love to sing and play the piano, and I enjoy singing with my daughters in three part harmony.  My husband is my pastor and best friend.  He also owns a small business where he does performance work on race cars.  Drag racing is a favorite sport around my house!  I was born in Hamblen County and am a product of the old Morristown City Schools.  As I get older, I treasure more time with my family because my girls have grown up so fast.  I love children of all ages, and I love teaching school.  God has certainly blessed me by leading me into education.  I can't imagine doing anything else.
