Experience

Upon graduation from Ohio State University, I began a career as a social worker for the Department of Human Services. I remained in this field for 5 1/2 years, at which time I became a stay-at-home mom to raise my children. As my children grew older,  I returned to school to obtain my certification, and began my teaching career. I  taught pre-K for 3 years, and then Kindergarten in a private school for one year. I continued to climb the grade school ladder, teaching first grade for 7 years,  second grade for 6 years, and third grade for 7 years.  I am currently teaching second grade at John Hay; my fifth year at this grade level.

My name is Sharon Lucas.  I was born and raised in a small rural community in Ohio.  After graduation from college, I married my husband Wayne and relocated to Oklahoma where we lived for 15 years.  We then relocated to Kansas City, Mo., for a short time, and finally to Morristown in 1990. At home with my husband and myself, is our 9 year old chocolate lab, Bailey. Our 2 children live within close proximity to us. Kara, our daughter, lives with her husband in Knoxville, Tn. Kara and her husband Derrick are the proud parents of our three  granddaughters, Olivia Ann, Caroline Michelle, and Madylyn. Our son, Tyler, is single and resides in Knoxville, Tn. Besides spending a lot of time with my family, I enjoy biking, walking, and golfing.  Some of my other interests include traveling and flower gardening. Both my husband and I are active members of First Presbyterian Church.
